Steelcom Electronics provided all specialist electronic systems input to a refit of a large private yacht

• The vessel came to Whangarei for a refit. This included the removal of the top deck and construction of a new viewing lounge area incorporating a new upper deck.
• Steelcom Electronics was commissioned to remove all aerial equipment from the top deck to allow the new superstructure to be fabricated and installed, then to reinstall and commission the satellite communications, navigation and communications systems.
• Steelcom Electronics provided all specialist electronic systems input to the project, including specialist engineering and design, product supply and installation/commissioning services.

Steelcom Electronics was involved with all aspects of the project from design through to final sea trials:

• Design of the new superstructure to accommodate all aerial requirements.
• Specified, supplied and installed all new aerial equipment.
• Commissioned all satellite communications, navigation and communication systems.
• Supplied, installed and commissioned a Maretron wind system.

• The vessel is equipped with satellite television and full satellite communications including VSAT.
• Navigation equipment is all full GMDSS.
• Critical bridge data (radar, chart plotter, wind and depth) is replicated in the master’s cabin for watch keeping safety.
• Systems are integrated with Furuno NavNet systems.
• The Maretron wind system utilises no moving parts significantly improving reliability and ongoing maintenance.

• Aerial systems are now correctly arranged with provision for all systems plus room for future expansion.
• Vessel safety is improved with electronic alarm capabilities replicated throughout the boat.
