New Zealand Fire Service chose Steelcom Electronics to fit out its Command Support System vehicle.
Client Requirements
- A mobile incident command unit that will integrate with other brigade systems and the NZFS Communications Centre.
- A command / hazardous goods vehicle to attend major local risks – major fire incidents, bushfires.
- Interoperability with other local emergency services.
Solution
- Assist in the bespoke design and implementation of an auto electrical and communications system for a new mobile incident Co-ordination Centre.
- This vehicle is designed to be driven to an emergency site to allow the field commanders to control all activities whilst remaining in the command vehicle, and to integrate with other NZFS systems and stay in touch and totally secure themselves.
Technical Features
- Remote CCTV using radio and IP-based technologies to enable remote monitoring with secure Internet access.
- Hydraulic mast to extend CCTV camera coverage.
- 2 Pac’s and smart board LCD displays.
- Weather station.
- VHF and UHF cross band radio receivers and transmitters, data terminals and Selcom paging.
- Full lighting plant.
